Marking and Editing Sections
Marking Sections in Warp or Weft for Assembly
Sections can be marked across any span of warp or weft threads. These marked sections are later used in Section Assembly to generate a new WIF file.
The Section Marker tool is located on the Design menu. This tool functions similarly to the selection tool; however, when you drag across threads, a section is recorded and highlighted in a distinct color for easy identification.
To enable the Section Marker tool, click the Section Marker icon on the Design menu or use the keyboard shortcut M.
The following example shows sections marked in warp and weft. The colored sections are marked, the areas left with the white background are not included in a section. The panel on the right is only shown if the Section Assembly icon is clicked; it may be closed and reopened at any time.
In this example, the default names are shown at the top. The section names are created in order that they are drawn and start with Section 1, Section 2, etc. These sections can be easily renamed. On the screenshot below, the tab for Warp is selected, so section names for Warp are shown, not Weft.

A section location is simply defined by a range of thread numbers. In the above screenshot, Section 2 is in the Warp (because the Warp Tab is selected) and covers warp threads 4 through 25 (location 4,25). When mistakes are drawing a section, instead of redrawing a section, it's simpler to edit the location values as shown below in Editing a Section.
Editing a Section
A section may be edited in one of two ways.
1) Double click the section name under Available Sections to allow renaming, or changing the from and through thread location values. The section can also be deleted by checking the Delete Section box.

2) With the section marker tool selected, right click over the section you want to edit in either warp or weft to pull up the section editor.
3) Selecting a section and pressing the delete key will launch the section editor, allowing for deletion.
Renaming Sections
Any section may be renamed from the default. When working with many sections, using meaningful names is recommended to make it easier to group the assembly instructions. Simply type in the new section name.
Overlapping Sections
Overlapping sections are allowed. The marked color will change where there is an overlap.
In this example, section 2 is defined from warp thread 4 to 25. Section 6 has been drawn from thread 21 to 31. The green color of section 2 and the pink color of section 6 show with a combination color where they overlap.
