# Troubleshooting the Dobby

#### Connecting the Dobby

A **special cable** is required to connect the dobby to your computer via USB.

**Setup Instructions:**

1. **Connect the cable** to both the dobby and your computer.
2. **Turn on the dobby** and allow it to **fully boot up** before launching the Dobby in TempoWeave.
3. In TempoWeave, click **"Dobby Settings"** on the **left side of the screen** to open configuration options.

> 🔌 Always confirm that the dobby is powered on and fully initialized **before** accessing the Dobby screen in the software.

#### Selecting the Correct Port

To connect TempoWeave to your dobby:

1. Click **“Available Ports”** to view the list of USB ports on your computer.
   * The correct port is usually **COM3** or **COM4**, but it may vary.
2. After selecting a port, verify the connection:
   * Use **"Set Pick"** or press the **green button** in the Dobby Control screen.
   * If the dobby responds (e.g., an audible **click**), the connection is successful.

> If you can't see the full draft or controls, you may need to **adjust your Zoom level** (try **Ctrl -** to zoom out).
