Your Drafts & the Library (Mobile)
How drafts are stored, found, saved, and shared on TempoWeave Mobile — and how to move files between your device, the cloud, and other weaving software.
The two places drafts live
On this device — your TempoWeave library. Every draft you save lives in the app's own folder, and everything in it appears in Browse Drafts automatically. You can also see the folder in your device's file manager: Files app → On My iPad/iPhone → TempoWeave (iOS), or the TempoWeave folder under Android/data (Android).
In your TempoWeave Cloud. Sign in with your TempoWeave account and your personal cloud library — the same one desktop uses — appears in Browse Drafts alongside your device drafts. Opening a cloud draft downloads a copy to work on.
New installs also include four sample drafts so there's something to explore on day one. They're ordinary drafts in your library — edit them, rename them, or delete them; a deleted sample stays deleted.
Browse Drafts
☰ → Browse Drafts… (it also opens automatically when you launch with no draft, and when you close your last tab).
Each row shows the draft's thumbnail, name, file type and size, shafts/treadles, and a date — "modified" for device drafts (when the file last changed) or "uploaded" for cloud drafts (when it reached the cloud).
Tap a row once for the detail panel: a larger preview, thread counts, sett, plus Open and Delete.
Tap Open to load the draft. Cloud drafts show a download progress card first.
Refresh re-scans both the device and the cloud.
New Draft starts a fresh draft without leaving the dialog.
Finding a draft
Search matches title, author, and tags as you type.
Filter opens the filter panel:
Source — device drafts, cloud drafts, or both
Type — TWA or WIF
Shafts / Treadles — exact counts or "N or more"
Tag — any tag used by your drafts (tags come from Project Info)
Sort — newest, name, shafts, and more
The Filter button shows a count badge while filters are active; Clear resets everything.
Deleting a draft
Open the detail panel and tap Delete from Device… or Delete from Cloud…. Both ask for confirmation first. Worth reading carefully:
Deleting from the cloud removes the draft from your cloud library for ALL your devices — desktop included, not just this phone or tablet. Deleting from the device only removes the local copy.
Saving
☰ → Save saves the draft in place — no questions, no duplicates.
The first save of a new draft asks for a name and saves a
.twainto your library. Type just the name; the app adds the extension. If the name's taken, you'll be asked before anything is overwritten.☰ → Save As… saves a copy under a new name in the library — or tap Choose folder… in the name dialog to save anywhere else on your device (Downloads, a cloud drive folder, etc.).
TempoWeave Mobile always saves .twa — the full project bundle (draft, colors, notes, sections, treadle mapping, weaving progress). To produce a plain .wif for other software, use ☰ → Export WIF….
Getting drafts in and out
In:
☰ → Open Local Draft… opens the system file picker — grab
.twa/.wiffiles from Downloads, iCloud, Google Drive, or email attachments. Opened files are added to your library so they show up in Browse Drafts afterward.Cloud: open anything from your cloud library, the public pattern library (☰ → Cloud → Browse Public Patterns…), or a share code someone sent you (☰ → Cloud → Open Shared Pattern…).
Out:
☰ → Cloud → Share Pattern… uploads to your cloud library — visible on all your signed-in devices, with an optional public listing or share code.
☰ → Export WIF… for other weaving programs.
Or copy files straight out of the TempoWeave folder with your device's file manager.
The public pattern library
☰ → Cloud → Browse Public Patterns… is the community library — drafts published by weavers everywhere, free for anyone to open, no account needed. Search by title, tag, or designer.
Publishers choose a content license when they share. If you come across something that doesn't belong (spam, someone else's copyrighted work), tap the ⚑ flag on its row to report it — reports go to LoftyFiber for review.
Common questions
Why doesn't my draft appear in Browse Drafts? Browse Drafts lists .twa and .wif files in the TempoWeave library folder. A draft saved elsewhere via Choose folder… (for example, into Downloads) won't appear — open it with Open Local Draft… instead, and it will be added to the library.
What's the difference between Save and Share Pattern? Save writes to this device. Share Pattern uploads to your cloud. Saving never uploads anything.
Do I need an account? Not for browsing, opening, or designing. Saving, exporting, and cloud upload unlock with a TempoWeave Studio license — see the Licensing Guide.
