Finding Your Way Around (Mobile)
Where everything lives in TempoWeave Mobile — the layouts, the panels, and the touch gestures.
Two layouts, one app
TempoWeave Mobile adapts to your screen:
Tablets (iPad, Android tablets) — panel buttons run down a side rail; tapping one slides its panel in from the side, next to your draft.
Phones — the same buttons sit in a dock along the bottom; tapping one slides its panel up as a sheet.
Same features, same names, different furniture. This guide says "panel" for both.
The top bar
Left to right:
☰
The main menu — file operations, cloud, account, settings (see below)
Filename
The active draft
✎ Pencil
Structure editing mode — tap cells in the threading, treadling, or tie-up
🖌 Brush
Color mode — the palette appears; tap a swatch, then paint warp/weft threads
↶ ↷
Undo / Redo
✋
Pan mode — one-finger drags scroll the draft instead of editing
With neither pencil nor brush active you're in read mode — safe to handle the screen without changing anything.
Below the top bar, each open draft has a tab; tap to switch, ✕ to close. Closing the last one returns you to Browse Drafts.
The ☰ menu
ACCOUNT — Sign In… (unlocks your licensed features and your cloud).
FILE — Browse Drafts…, Open Local Draft…, New Draft…, Save, Save As…, Export WIF… (see the Drafts & Library guide).
PROJECT — Project Info… (title, notes, sett, yarn calculations, tags), Snapshots… (named version history).
CLOUD — Share Pattern…, My Patterns…, Browse Public Patterns…, Open Shared Pattern….
APP — Settings…, About TempoWeave.
Tap anywhere outside the menu to dismiss it.
The panels
The panels are organized to mirror the desktop menus, so what you learn in one app carries to the other.
Home — everyday editing:
DRAWING TOOLS — Freehand and Straight Draw for the pencil mode.
SELECTION — Select All Warp, Select All Weft, then Copy, Cut, Paste (Replace or Insert), Delete, and Clear for whatever range you've selected.
ADD / REMOVE THREADS — insert or delete one thread at the cursor.
DRAFT — Lock Draft to protect a finished design.
Project — Project Info…, the Multi-treadle toggle, Print / PDF…, and Snapshots….
Design — draft structure, grouped like desktop's Design menu:
COMMON WEAVES and SECTIONS.
TIE-UP — Tie-Up Diagonal…, Clear, Invert, and Shift Tieup….
WARP — Clear, Reverse, Mirror, Invert, Rotate, and Shift Warp….
WEFT — the same set for the weft.
MODE — convert between liftplan and tie-up.
The Shift… entries open a card with four arrow buttons — each tap shifts the whole warp, weft, or tie-up one step (with optional wrap-around), and colors and thickness travel with the threads.
Tools — the workhorses, grouped like desktop's Tools menu:
ASSISTANTS — Weave Assistant and Thread Assistant.
ANALYSIS — Float Check.
WEFT — Tromp as Writ… with the same three options as desktop (structure only, structure and color, color only).
TABBY — Add and Remove Tabby.
TRANSFORM — Turn Draft and Rotate Draft.
OPTIMIZE — Reduce Shafts, Reduce Treadles, Expand Treadles.
TIE-UP — Arrange Shafts and Arrange Treadles.
Yarns — the Yarn Catalog (real yarn lines with colors, photos, and sett suggestions), My Yarns, the gradient tool, color painting, and palette position.
View — how the draft is displayed: view styles, Fabric view, 3D interlacement, zoom options.
Help — the TempoWeave Mobile Guide (this documentation), Feedback / Support, and About.
A panel stays open while you work; tap its button again (or the ✕) to close it.
Touch gestures
Pinch
Zoom the draft in or out
Two-finger drag
Pan (scroll) the draft — works in any mode
One-finger drag on the drawdown
Pans in read/pan mode; edits in pencil/brush mode
Drag on the warp/weft headers
Scrolls the draft (headers never edit by drag-scroll)
Tap
Edits a cell (pencil), paints a thread (brush), or selects a swatch (palette)
If you keep editing when you meant to scroll: tap ✋ to switch drags to panning, or leave pencil/brush mode.
The palette strip
In brush mode a color palette appears — across the top or down the right edge (your choice in Settings). Colors already used in the draft are gathered at the start of the strip, then the full palette follows. Tap a swatch to make it the active color — its name (and yarn line, for catalog colors) appears beside the strip so you know exactly what you picked.
App settings
☰ → Settings… holds app-wide preferences: palette position, Browse-on-launch, display options, and more. Draft-specific settings (sett, title, notes, tags) live in Project Info; Weave and Thread Assistant settings live inside each assistant's ⚙.
