# Manually Entering a Profile Draft

A profile draft works under the same rules as a thread-by-thread draft.   A profile draft has a number of shafts equal to the number of blocks, and blocks are entered through the threading. If there is a tie-up, then then the weft calls for a treadle, the corresponding number of shafts rise or sink, depending on if the project mode is set for rising or sinking shed.  Profile drafts may also be entered as a liftplan; again, the rising/sinking shed determines if the color on the warp or weft shows on the surface.
