# Enter the Threading, Tie-Up and Treadling

In this example, we are going to use Common Weaves to generate the threading, tie-up and treadling.   

However, before doing this, we will try out the drawing tools to see how this can be done manually.

### Trying out the Drawing Tools

* Select the Straight Draw tool (located on the quick access bar, Home menu, or by using the keyboard shortcut "S".
* Click into the threading and drag to draw in the threads.  Experiment and see how you can draw up from shaft 1 to shaft 4 and keep drawing.  Do the same in Threading.  Also see that you can click the individual cells individually in threading, threading or tie-up.
* There are various ways to repeat the threading, treadling and to generate the tie-up in TempoWeave, as well as to completely fill it in.

### Step 4: Use Common Weaves to fill in the Draft

1. Click into the Design Menu and Weave Explorer.   Select Common Weaves.
2. The first option is Straight Twill with 4-shafts and a 2/2 float ratio.  That is what we will use in this example.  Tab down and type in the Warp Threads (446) and Weft Picks (680) that were determined in the Step 3.3 in the Setup Page above.
3. Click Apply and Done.
4. Notice that the threading, treadling and tie-up are now entered for you.
