TempoTreadle III (Beta)— Quick Start
Note: This user guide is in process and may include information not yet available in your version...
Get your TempoTreadle 3 box talking to TempoWeave Mobile and start weaving in a few minutes. (For the full reference — naming, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, every button — see the TempoTreadle 3 Owner's Guide.)
What you need
Your TempoTreadle 3 box and its USB-C cable
The 16-channel treadle sensor ribbon (snaps into the box)
Your phone with TempoWeave Mobile installed
1. Power on the box
The box has no power switch — it runs on USB-C power or its internal battery.
From off: plug in the USB-C cable, or press the top button once.
The screen lights up, shows the LoftyFiber logo, then a status screen.
First time out of the box, leave it plugged in for an hour or two to top up the battery. The battery icon turns amber while charging and reads 100% when full.
2. Connect the treadle sensor
Snap the 16-channel ribbon connector into the box. That's it — no configuration needed.
3. Put the box and your phone on the same Wi-Fi
You have two ways. Option A is the fastest and works anywhere (no home network needed) — great for a first run, a guild meeting, or a retreat.
Option A — Use the box's own Wi-Fi (easiest)
On the box screen, confirm it says it's on its own Wi-Fi network. If not, hold the bottom button for 2 seconds to switch it there.
On your phone, open Wi-Fi settings and join the network named
TempoTreadle-XXXX(the box shows its exact name on screen).Password:
weaveon123
Open TempoWeave Mobile — continue to Step 4.
Option B — Use your home Wi-Fi
Join the box's own Wi-Fi first (Option A, steps 1–2).
A setup page may pop up automatically; if not, open a browser to
http://192.168.7.1/wifi.Pick your home network from the list, enter its password, and submit. The box reboots and joins your Wi-Fi.
Reconnect your phone to that same home network, then open TempoWeave Mobile.
4. Connect in TempoWeave Mobile
Open TempoWeave Mobile.
Go to Settings | Setup. It will find your TempoTreadle box automatically. Tap it to connect.
In a room with multiple TempoTreadles and not sure which box is yours? Tap Identify in the app — the box's screen flashes brightly so you can spot it.
The box screen shows the app name once connected. You're linked.
5. Start weaving
Start a weaving session in TempoWeave Mobile.
Press your treadles — the app follows along and keeps your place.
Watch the app, not the box: the box screen dims on its own to save battery while you weave. Tap either button to brighten it for a look.
Tuning your treadles (optional)
If a treadle isn't registering, use Tune mode in TempoWeave Mobile. The box screen shows a live list of which treadles it currently sees pressed — step on each one and confirm the right number lights up.
Good to know
Battery & charging. Green = running on battery, amber = charging, red = low. The box charges over USB-C from any phone charger, computer, or USB battery pack.
Auto power-off. To save battery, the box can turn itself off after a stretch of no treadle activity (default 60 minutes, adjustable or off in TempoWeave Mobile's settings). It only does this on battery, never while charging, and gives you a 30-second on-screen warning — press any button to keep it awake. Tap the top button to wake it later.

Quick troubleshooting
App can't find the box. Make sure the phone and box are on the same Wi-Fi. The fastest fix is Option A: hold the bottom button 2 s to put the box on its own Wi-Fi, then join
TempoTreadle-XXXXon your phone.Screen is dim. That's normal — it dims to save battery. Tap any button to brighten it.
Box turned itself off. That's the inactivity auto power-off. Tap the top button to turn it back on; raise or disable the timer in TempoWeave Mobile if you'd rather it stay on longer.
