# Why do I need TempoWeave?

The TempoWeave design application is your user interface as you access your draft, thread and weave.  TempoTreadle 3 uses the Weave Assist function found on the TempoWeave application.  This is a menu option on the far right of the Tools Menu.

The minimum license type required for TempoTreadle 3 is TempoWeave Lite.   This is a one time purchase and has all the features required to use TempoTreadle 3.  Also, this is **not** a subscription, and you will also receive updates as new features are added.

If you already own TempoWeave Lite, Core or Pro, you do not need any additional software (in fact you get a discount during purchase if you select that option). Your TempoWeave application already has the features you need to use TempoTreadle 3.

Think of TempoWeave as your interface that you see and use while weaving, and TempoTreadle 3 as the little box that attaches to the TempoTreadle sensor array on your loom that sends the signals of what treadles, or toggles for a table loom, are in range of the sensor as you weave.

With your TempoWeave license, whatever the level, you can sign into as many personal devices that you want to use to manage and view your weaving drafts, or use with TempoTreadle 3.  TempoWeave has a feature called TempoWeave cloud that you can use to save and share your drafts.  

Most weavers prefer to use a tablet or phone on their computer when using TempoTreadle 3.  For Android and iOS, the TempoWeave Studio download is free.  To connect it to your account, simply use the sign-in in the upper left corner; you'll receive an email with a code to enter and you are all set.

There is also an option to do an in-app purchase on the Apple Store for a TempoWeave Lite version, but this license only works with your Apple account. For the same price, it's best to purchase the license on tempoweave.com so that you can sign in on any of your devices, including Windows, Mac and Android.  &#x20;
