A color palette is a collection of colors that are available for use in a weaving draft. The Palette is on the right.

Color Exchange and Color Swap are similar in that they allow replacement of a selected color with another for all warp and/or weft threads. The difference is that Color Exchange allows you to exchange places with two colors currently used, whereas Color Swap allows you to swap out one color with another from the palette.
To use, select a color in the Active Palette, then use the icon, or right click, to choose Color Exchange or Color Swap.
