# Apple Magic Mouse

If you are using an Apple Magic Mouse, you might want to make the **Apple Magic Mouse** right-click reliably, you need to adjust a specific setting, as macOS turns it off by default on new setups. How to Turn On Right-Click

1. Open your **System Settings** (the gear icon in your Dock).
2. Scroll down the left sidebar and click **Mouse**.
3. Locate the **Secondary click** dropdown menu.
4. Change it from "Off" to **Click right side**.

Important Quirks to Know If you already turned this setting on but it still feels like it is ignoring your right-clicks, keep these two design quirks in mind:

* **Lift Your Left Finger:** The Magic Mouse uses a touch-sensitive surface rather than separate physical buttons. If your left index finger is still resting on the left side of the mouse when you try to click with your right finger, the mouse registers it as a standard left-click. You must slightly lift your left finger.
* **Click Near the Top Edge:** The touch sensors are located toward the top front of the mouse. Clicking too far down the body of the mouse might cause it to miss the "right side" distinction.
