# Privacy Policy

**TempoWeave Studio** *Published by LoftyFiber LLC*

**Effective:** 2026-05-19 **Last updated:** 2026-05-19

### Summary

TempoWeave Studio is a hand-weaving design application available on desktop (macOS, Windows, Linux) and mobile (iOS, [*Android*](https://play.google.com/apps/internaltest/4701711735183038246)). Most of what you do in it — designing drafts, importing WIF files, saving patterns to your own device — happens entirely locally and never reaches us. We collect information in three categories: (1) crash reports on desktop, which are on by default and can be turned off in Settings; and (2) data you provide when you opt into a specific feature (creating a cloud account, sharing a pattern, purchasing a license). We do not run usage analytics, do not display ads, and do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

### Who we are

TempoWeave Studio is published by LoftyFiber LLC, located in South Carolina, United States. References to "we," "us," or "our" in this policy mean LoftyFiber LLC.

For privacy questions or requests, contact: **<support@loftyfiber.com>** *(verify this is correct before publishing)*

### What we collect, and why

#### Information we never collect

* Usage analytics or feature-tracking. The application contains no third-party analytics SDKs and sends no automatic data about what you click, which features you use, or how long you spend in the app.
* Advertising identifiers, device fingerprints, or marketing IDs.
* Contents of patterns you design and save locally, unless you explicitly choose to share or upload them.

#### Crash reports (desktop only, on by default, can be turned off)

The **desktop versions** of TempoWeave Studio (macOS, Windows, Linux) include an automatic crash reporting service that helps us find and fix bugs. Crash reporting is **enabled by default** but you can turn it off at any time:

> **Settings → Telemetry Enabled** (uncheck the box).

When crash reporting is enabled and the application encounters an unhandled error, we upload a crash report to Microsoft Azure Blob Storage. Each report contains:

* The version of TempoWeave Studio you are running
* Your operating system and .NET runtime version
* Your computer's host name (e.g., "Erins-Mac"), and an 8-character hash of it used to group reports from the same machine
* The technical details of the error: exception type, message, and stack trace
* Thread state, memory usage, and garbage-collector statistics at the moment of the crash
* Your TempoWeave license email address, if you are signed in to a license. This lets us reach out to follow up on a crash we can reproduce.

If you turn off Telemetry Enabled, crash reports are **still written to a local folder on your computer** (under `LocalAppData/TempoWeave/CrashReports`) for 30 days, in case you want to manually share one when reporting a bug — but nothing is uploaded to us. The local copies are auto-deleted after 30 days.

The **mobile versions** of TempoWeave Studio (iOS, Android) **do not include crash reporting** and upload nothing in the event of a crash. The platform-level crash logs that iOS and Android keep locally are governed by Apple's and Google's policies, not ours.

#### Information you provide when you create a TempoWeave cloud account

If you choose to use the optional Cloud Pattern Library (sharing patterns, joining repositories, downloading shared work), we create an account for you. We store:

* **Email address** — used to identify your account, send share invitations, and contact you about your account.
* **Authentication credentials** — when you sign in, we verify against a hashed password or your active license subscription (see "License and billing" below). We never store plaintext passwords.
* **License tier** — which tier of TempoWeave Studio you are using (Demo, Lite, Core, Pro), so the app knows which features to enable for your account.

You may use the application indefinitely without creating a cloud account. The cloud account exists only to support sharing and repository features.

#### Patterns you upload to the Cloud Pattern Library

When you choose to upload a pattern (whether for a private share link, a personal cloud library, or a shared repository), we store:

* The pattern file itself (`.wif` or `.twa` format) in encrypted cloud storage.
* A thumbnail image generated from the pattern.
* The pattern's name, description, and any attribution text you provide.
* Visibility settings you choose (private link, repository membership, or public gallery).
* Timestamps for upload and modification.

You can delete your uploaded patterns at any time from within the application. Deleted patterns are removed from active storage; backups containing them may persist for up to 30 days before being purged.

#### License and billing

License purchases and subscription management are handled by **FastSpring**, our payment processor. When you buy a Lite license or subscribe to Pro, you transact directly with FastSpring; we never see your credit card details. We receive from FastSpring:

* Your subscription identifier and tier
* Your email address (for license verification)
* Subscription status (active, cancelled, expired)

FastSpring's own privacy policy governs the data they collect during checkout: <https://fastspring.com/privacy/>

#### App Store distribution

The mobile versions of TempoWeave Studio are distributed through Apple's App Store and Google Play. Those platforms collect their own data about downloads and installs as described in their privacy policies. We receive only aggregate, anonymized download statistics from those stores.

### How we use what we collect

We use the information described above only to:

* Operate the features you have asked us to operate (cloud sync, sharing, repositories).
* Verify your license tier and unlock the corresponding features.
* Diagnose and fix bugs, using uploaded crash reports (desktop only, when telemetry is enabled).
* Respond to your support requests and account inquiries.
* Detect and prevent abuse of the cloud platform (spam patterns, malicious content).

We do **not**:

* Sell or rent your information to anyone, ever.
* Use your patterns or account data to train AI models.
* Display advertising in the application.
* Share your information with marketers or data brokers.

### Sub-processors

We use the following service providers to operate the cloud features. Each handles specific data on our behalf under their own privacy commitments.

| Provider | Purpose | What they receive |
| --------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Microsoft Azure | Cloud database and file storage for the Pattern Library; Blob Storage for desktop crash reports | Account records, pattern files, thumbnails, metadata; crash report JSON files (desktop only, opt-out) |
| FastSpring | License purchase and subscription billing | Whatever you provide during checkout (handled directly by them) |
| Apple App Store | iOS app distribution | Standard App Store install data |

### Your rights

You can, at any time:

* **Access your data.** Email <support@loftyfiber.com> and we will provide a copy of the account data, pattern uploads, and crash reports we hold for you.
* **Delete your data.** Delete patterns from within the application, or email <support@loftyfiber.com> to request full account deletion (including crash reports). Account deletions are processed within 30 days.
* **Turn off crash reporting on desktop.** Uncheck Settings → Telemetry Enabled at any time. The change takes effect immediately and applies to all future crashes.
* **Export your data.** All your patterns can be downloaded as standard `.wif` or `.twa` files from within the application — the same formats you can open in any compatible weaving software.
* **Correct your data.** Update your email or account details from within the application, or contact us.

If you are a resident of California, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with applicable data-protection laws, you may have additional rights under those laws (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, etc.). Contact us to exercise any of those rights.

### Children's privacy
