When you first install the application, it runs in Demo mode. After purchasing a subscription, you activate your license to unlock the features included with your tier. *** ### License Tiers #### Demo The free tier. You can open and view WIF files, explore the interface, and work with a draft — but you cannot save, export, or print your work. You also have full access to the Yarn Catalog and palette tools (Clear Palette, Import/Export Yarns). Demo mode is a great way to explore TempoWeave Studio before subscribing. #### Lite The entry-level subscription. Lite unlocks the ability to save, export, and print your work. You can create and edit drafts, use Common Weaves, mark cloth sections with the Section Marker, connect a TempoTreadle to the Weave Assistant, and access the full set of drawing and manipulation tools. (The Yarn Catalog and palette tools are available in every tier, including Demo.) #### Core The standard subscription tier. Core includes everything in Lite, plus additional design and planning tools for more productive weaving: * Browse Drafts and Browse Patterns * Color & Weave Explorer and AI Draft * Design Repeats and Diagonal * Add and Remove Tabby * Turn Draft and Rotate Draft * 3D Interlacement and Cloth Simulation * Cloud Share/Upload * AI Assistant * Warp Winding Plan and Weft Color Plan * Reed Calculator and Raddle Calculator #### Pro The premium tier. You can see them and read their tooltips, but clicking them won't do anything until you upgrade. Your current license status is shown in the **License** dialog (Help tab > License). *** ### Purchasing a Subscription Subscriptions are available through our online store powered by FastSpring. When you complete your purchase, you'll receive: * A **confirmation email** with your order details * A **License ID** — this is what you'll use to activate TempoWeave Studio Keep your confirmation email safe. If you ever need to reactivate on a new computer or after reinstalling, you'll need your License ID. *** ### Activating Your License Open the License dialog from the **Help** tab on the ribbon and click **License**. #### Automatic Activation (Recommended) This is the quickest way to activate: 1. Open the **License** dialog (Help tab > License) 2. Paste your **License ID** from your purchase confirmation email 3. Click **Validate** TempoWeave Studio will contact the licensing server, verify your license, and activate it immediately. You'll see your name, email, license/subscription status, and renewal date displayed in the dialog. #### Manual Activation If you've been provided a license code directly (for example, from customer support): 1. Open the **License** dialog 2. Switch to the **Manual** tab 3. Enter your **email address** and **license code** 4. Click **Activate** #### Lookup (Lost Your License ID?) If you can't find your License ID: 1. Open the **License** dialog 2. Click **Lookup** 3. Enter your **email address** and the approximate **order date** TempoWeave Studio will search for your license and help you reactivate. *** ### License/Subscription Status Your subscription can be in one of these states: * **Active** — Your subscription is current and all features for your tier are available. Shown with a green indicator. * **Deactivated** — Your subscription has been paused or deactivated. You can reactivate through the FastSpring customer portal. * **Canceled** — Your subscription has been canceled. Features remain available until your current billing period ends, then the app reverts to Demo mode. * **Unlicensed** — No license has been entered. The app runs in Demo mode. *** ### License/Subscription Renewal TempoWeave Studio subscriptions renew automatically through FastSpring. You don't need to do anything — your license stays active as long as your subscription is current. The app periodically verifies your subscription status in the background (approximately once a month). This happens silently and doesn't interrupt your work. If your subscription lapses, you'll still be able to open and view your drafts, but saving, exporting, and printing will be restricted until you renew. *** ### Managing Your License/Subscription To manage your license or subscription — update payment details, view invoices, pause, or cancel — click the **Manage License/Subscription** button in the License dialog. This opens the FastSpring customer portal in your web browser, where you have full control over your account. *** ### Moving to a New Computer To use TempoWeave Studio on a new computer: 1. Install TempoWeave Studio on the new machine 2. Open the License dialog 3. Enter your License ID and click Validate Your license is tied to your account, not to a specific computer, so you can activate on your new machine right away. *** ### Upgrading to a Higher Tier Upgrades happen inside TempoWeave Studio, not in the FastSpring customer portal. The portal's Update Subscription page will not offer a different tier; use it only for payment details, invoices, and cancelling. **From Lite to Pro** 1. Open TempoWeave Studio and click the purple **Upgrade to Pro** button in the toolbar above your draft. 2. The dialog shows the amount due today in your own currency, and what the Pro subscription renews at next year. 3. Click **Upgrade Now**. Your existing subscription is changed in place and charged to the payment method on file. There is nothing to re-enter. Pro features unlock immediately, no restart needed. If the in-app upgrade cannot complete (for example, an expired card), the dialog offers a link to buy the upgrade online instead; you will then receive a new License ID by email to enter under Help, then License. **From Core to Pro** 1. Click the **Upgrade to Pro** button in the toolbar. It opens the Pro subscription page in the store. 2. Buy the Pro subscription with the same email address you used for Core. 3. Back in TempoWeave Studio, open the License dialog and click **Validate** to refresh your license. *** ### Clearing Your License If you need to remove your license from a computer (for example, before selling or giving away the machine): 1. Open the License dialog 2. Click **Clear License** This reverts the app to Demo mode and removes your license information from that computer. *** ### Troubleshooting **"My license shows as Deactivated"** This usually means a payment issue. Visit the FastSpring customer portal (click Manage License/Subscription in the License dialog) to check your payment method and update it if needed. **"Features are still greyed out after activating"** Make sure you activated with the correct license tier. Core and Pro unlock different feature sets. Check the License dialog to confirm which tier is active. **"I can't connect to the licensing server"** TempoWeave Studio needs an internet connection to validate your license. If you're offline, the app will use your last successful validation. As long as your subscription is current, brief periods without internet won't affect your access. **"I reinstalled and lost my license"** Simply re-enter your License ID in the License dialog. Your subscription is still active — you just need to tell the app about it again.
