# Messages

*Available on Desktop and Mobile.*

### What It Does

The **Messages bell** keeps you up to date with news from LoftyFiber — release announcements, tips, and occasional offers — without leaving TempoWeave. A red badge on the bell shows how many unread messages are waiting.

{% tab title="Desktop" %}
The bell sits at the right end of the ribbon tab row.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Mobile" %}
The bell sits on the top toolbar (it stays visible in the phone's compact layout too).

### Reading Messages

Tap or click the bell to open the message panel. Each message shows its title, text, and how long ago it arrived. Messages can include links — for example to release notes or a how-to guide — which open in your browser.

Messages come in a few flavors:

* **Info** — general news and tips
* **Update** — a new version is available or has shipped
* **Offer** — occasional promotions

### Dismissing

* Click the **✕** on a message to dismiss just that one.
* **Dismiss all** clears the panel in one click.

Dismissed messages don't come back, and the badge counts only messages you haven't dismissed. Dismissals are remembered per device — dismissing on your desktop doesn't clear the badge on your tablet.

### How Messages Arrive

TempoWeave checks for new messages periodically while running and at startup. No account is required, nothing about your projects is sent anywhere — the app simply fetches the current message feed. If you're offline, the bell just stays quiet until the next successful check.

Some messages are addressed to specific customers (for example, a reply about a support question). Everyone else never sees those.
