Weaving with the Dobby
This is an example of the screen when the Dobby option on the Tools menu is selected:

Using the Dobby Interface
The current pick is outlined in red. In this example, it's a new draft and the current pick is weft sequence 1.
Note on pick order: In the draft, Pick 1 appears at the top. In dobby view, earlier picks appear at the bottom, matching what you'll see on the loom as you weave.
Weft color dots are displayed along the right side.
Starting the Weaving Sequence
Press the green arrow to begin. You should hear a "click" as the dobby engages.
If not, consult the next "Troubleshooting your Dobby" document for dobby settings, required cable, and troubleshooting tips.
Once settings are correct:
Each time the treadle is pressed, the screen will advance to the next pick.
You can reset the pick by clicking “Set Pick” and entering the correct weft sequence.
Direction & Reversing
The default weaving direction is Forward.
You can switch to Reverse, useful for:
Mirroring a draft
Backing out picks
⚠️ If only one or two picks need to be undone, consider using "Repeat Last" instead. It's easy to forget to return the direction to Forward.
Manual Controls
Manual advance through the draft is possible.
Clicking “Engage Solenoids” should signal the dobby and result in a "click".
Pausing and Saving
When taking a break, click “Close” to exit the Dobby screen. You'll return to the Weaving Draft view.
Don’t forget to click “Save” to preserve your progress.
Next time you open the draft and enter the Dobby, the pick sequence will resume where you left off.
Dobby Interface Options:

Dobby Interface Options
At the top of the Dobby screen, you'll find a button that opens a menu with the following options:
1. Change Color Alert
Enabled by default.
Plays a distinct tone whenever the weft color changes, helping you stay on track during weaving.
Click to toggle off if you prefer no audible alert.
2. Show Dobby Control
Enabled by default.
Displays controls for:
Forward
Reverse
Repeat Last
Set Pick
Turning this off provides more space to view the draft on screen.
3. Show Sections
Currently not functional.
Future versions will allow drafts to be divided into sections (e.g., hem, body, border).
🖥️ Display Tip: Depending on your screen resolution, you may need to zoom in or out (using your browser or system settings) for optimal viewing.
