Prepare Threading WIF

This option creates a new draft that allows you to treadle through the threading.

  • Although primarily designed for dobby looms, it can also be used with table looms in combination with TempoTreadle.

  • This feature helps you track your progress and save your threading position as you work through the threading.

Example:

This is a 16-shaft liftplan, where each treadling step corresponds to a threading action.

🧵 This is especially helpful when threading complex drafts or working across many shafts.

Creating a Threading Draft

To create a draft specifically for threading:

  1. Click "Prepare Threading WIF."

  2. You’ll be prompted to finalize the name and choose the location to save the threading WIF.

  3. By default, TempoWeave will:

    • Suggest the name of your current WIF

    • Append “–THREADING” to the filename

🧶 This allows you to keep your threading progress separate from your main draft while maintaining a clear file naming system.

What You’ll See in the Threading Draft

After saving, the threading draft automatically opens.

  • The draft will look similar to a standard WIF, but with a key difference:

    • The treadling area mirrors the threading—each treadle corresponds to a shaft in the threading.

🧩 This setup allows you to "treadle" the threading, making it easy to track progress on both dobby and table looms.
